A Tribute to You.

Lately I've been pondering upon the illness known as cancer. I don't even really know what it is, but it has intrigued me. It's gotten me thinking of how badly I want to save lives, save people who suffer from this. Hematology and Oncology are fields that I'm actually looking into, even though they're pretty far fetched for me. ha. But I think, in the end, it would be the patients who would make it. I think it would be life changing not only for them, but for me.
Cancer. Think of how many lives it has changed and, sadly perhaps taken. Now I want you to think of a person you know or have heard of that has cancer.. it didn't take too long before someone's face or name popped into your head. It appears to be sweeping around the world, but the way I like to view it is as a miraculous happenstance. Early before cancer was cancer and diseases were diseases, people just died of natural causes. Because of education, we've been able to pin a logical name down onto this killer and have actually been able to defeat it more often than not.
I recently finished Lance Armstrong's book It's Not About the Bike. I personally think it's what got me so interested in the whole charade. As I read about the hardships and heartaches and pains of going through chemotherapy, I grew sympathetic. You never really know how good you have it until you see or even experience the other side. He had a 3% chance of living. 3%. He beat the odds, and not only defeated cancer, but came back on the bike and won the Tour de France multiple times. This was the highlight of his life. Towards the end of the book, Lance says, The truth is, if you asked me to choose between winning the Tour de France and cancer, I would choose cancer. Odd as it sounds, I would rather have the title of cancer survivor than winner of the Tour, because of what it has done for me as a human being, a man, a husband, a son, and a father." Cancer survivors are summed up in one word: strength.
Back to knowing people personally who have cancer. We're coming up on October which, if I'm not mistaken, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But I'd like to take this opportunity and tribute this tiny little post that probably barely anyone will see, to everyone and anyone out there who has had or currently has some form of cancer. Auntie Jen, little Graham, Kalina, Ronan(Taylor Swift), and so many more who have taught us to enjoy life. It's crazy how they are the physically weak ones, yet they are the strongest people in the world. So, this one is for all of you. Keep fighting and finish strong. You never know when your finish line is gonna come and you never know what it's going to be like, but God does. He has a more important plan in store for you and loves you.
It's really not about the bike, or the clothes, or the hair, or the music or the new iphone. It's about learning to truly live.

As Abraham Lincoln once said, "It's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years."
Likewise to John Schmidt's masterpiece, Tribute (in previous post), this Taylor Swift song can relate:

A Day, A Week, A Month..

A Day: Today was a grand day from like 2:30 on minus a few hours. Those hours subtracted from the equation represent the hours spent doing homework. AH! Insanity!! Well, i truly believe I am indeed going insane because my brain appears to be malfunctioning. sigh.. BUT! here is a tiny portion of the forever awaited GUITAR part of my blog!! Sorry it has been a wretchedly long time and i have never even mentioned any thing that has to even do with the lovely instrument but better late then never! BUT, today i did something so miraculous I wanted to cry. I learned how to play Ours by Taylor Swift! Success! Ive gotta tell ya, if you want to feel powerful, playing the guitar is your thing cause man do i love rockin out. And those of you who are lacking in the love for t-swift, just look up the music video for Ours and if you still don't like the song then, well i guess your choice of music is different orrr you have no romantic bone in your body. just kidding.. i don't want to be judgmental but, chya. I could strum for forever. :-) (i hate how the smiley faces with this font never look like smiley faces!!!)

A Week: Something important about this week is that I am making the forever prolonged trek to Bear Lake. I have never been there in my entire life and yet I know more people who have been there than I have met who have been to Disneyland. crazy. I guess I shall see what all the fuss is about even though supposedly its not even as great in the winter but WHO CARES! i get to leave this town, this problematic city, this pit of despair for 4 days and reconnect with myself and perhaps even find inner peace. hahahahaha. i know, i can be deep. ;) (but don't get me wrong, i shall miss my family greatly and my home). So this week may be great, we'll just have to wait and see!

A Month(or two):Well gee.. I have this pet peeve of when people post stuff about how miserable their lives are when really the only truly horrible thing going on is they lost their retainer or something lame like that.. So right now I feel rather hypocritical but man, sometimes you just need to let it out:
I HATE CHEMISTRY
I HATE PRECALCULUS!!!!!!
why why why why. I mean, they really wouldn't be that bad if I actually understood them.. hm.. ya nope. I try to take it one day at a time but its just pure blah.
And then there is that beautiful epiphany moment when you realize this cute boy who has been dropping ya hints and acts like he likes you when he simply just acts that way with every other girl on the planet. what the flipping honey nut cheerios.
this is the story of a girl for the past 2 months who is stuck in a teenage wasteland. rock on python. may nagini never bite you and may your days be more prosperous than mine at the time being.
(sorry, reading harry potter, knowing some rock song, monte python, and star trek may be helpful understanding that.. or maybe you just need to be crazy like me.. who knows.. )

THE END?
yes.. i ended this the Sherlock Holmes style. :D

Quotes of Life, Music, and Love from Above ( :

Here are some of the quotes I have promised you! Most are from some of my favorite movies or books--which are pretty much just Nicholas Sparks. But hey! They're good:) so i don't see any reason as to why i shouldn't post them. But I would have to say my absolute favorite quote is the very last one. Yes I know its the longest one and looks like it might take a million years to read but its incredible. I put a link after it so you can even see all of the other amazingly inspirational and uplifting quotes that President Deiter F. Uchtdorf has given to the world. I hope you enjoy it just as much as i do!

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."
-A Cinderella Story

"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful".
-A Walk to Remember

"The problem isn't finding out where you are gonna go-its figuring out what you are gonna do once you get there."
- A Walk to Remember

“I finally understood what true love meant...love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.”
― Dear John

"Nothing that's worthwhile is ever easy."
- Message in a Bottle

“If conversation was the lyrics, laughter was the music, making time spent together a melody that could be replayed over and over without getting stale.”
- The Choice

"Music is what feelings sound like."
-Unknown

“If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be one nation gone under.”
― Ronald Reagan

“Life is one grand sweet song... so start the music”
 Ronald Reagan

“Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God’s love for you. God does not look on the outward appearance. I believe that He doesn’t care one bit if we live in a castle or a cottage, if we are handsome or homely, if we are famous or forgotten. Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God love encompasses us completely. He loves us because He is filled with an infinite measure of holy, pure, and indescribable love. We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. God’s love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant, and the wicked. What this means is that, regardless of our current state, there is hope for us. No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us.”

Dawn is Breaking 11.18.11, Hearts Are Shaking, and Love is Awakening:)

So.. I am one of the biggest twi-hard fans you will ever know.. Except I've eased up over the years. I used to have a shrine of edward in my room and posters, stickers, bags, t-shirts, the whole sha-bang. But something that I just think that is extremely crazy is that the last book is now the current movie.. I've like devoted my teenage life to this book series and now it's almost over!! Oh how the time flies...
And don't forget to check out ALL the movie soundtracks!! WAY good music. Be sure to at least listen to the Breaking Dawn one that came out just a week ago.. I would put the music on my playlist for ya but it's not working!! sorry:/... I cried when i listened to it for the first time! Just listen to it, and you'll see why. :')

Then there is the conflicting decision between Edward and Jacob. All the people who chose Jacob even before the movie came out are proud of themselves for it because Taylor Lautner is just amazing... I get it. ha! BUT even though in like the first couple movies Edward seemed to be a little lacking in lookin good (lets face it, rob pattinson wasnt pulling off the super pale look) But I just looooooove him in the book! So, in the end... both guys are great! Some people say Edward is too controlling.. uh Hello? He's just doing cause he loves bella so much and doesn't want anything to happen to her!! and plus Jacob is the same way. And this is why i am a true member of Team Switzerland.

PHINEAS AND FERB BIT: (Ive decided to add this new part to most posts i do since it's pretty much the funniest show.. and i think more teens and adults watch it than little kids do) So they had this Halloween episode and Candace was trying to get her mom to come bust her little brothers. She finds her mom in the movie theater and was watching the new 'vampire' movie that was called Early Evening. I think I pretty much died of laughter. Satires are freakin hilarious. And that's why I love Phineas and Ferb.. hahah

p.s. Ive been to every single midnight premiere. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and now Breaking Dawn Part One.. Im not breaking the tradition!!!

A Bookworm's True Devotion, Notions, and a Cauldron Full of Polyjuice Potion

With the spooky season of Halloween approaching ever so quickly I find it apropriate to mention Harry Potter. I'm reading them for the first time and wondering why the goop I haven't read them sooner!! They are so freakin hilarious. There is this part I just read in the 4th one and it's when Harry and Ron are trying to ask girls to the Yule Ball. Being super frustrated, Harry finally says something about how it's simply impossible to ask a girl because they are always traveling in packs and you can't get them alone. I think I almost died of laughter!! And btw I have to confess that from the ages of around 7 to 12 I was a deathly afraid of Voldemort. haha! it was legit though i mean, who isn't afraid of someone who doesn't even have a freakin nose and who's toe nails are longer than any girl in the whole tri-state area?! (side note-- phineas and ferb is uberly hilarious).
I might as well mention how i pretty much love the website mylifeisaverage.com/ I highly suggest it whenever anyone needs a good laugh. Well, Ive always thought of how my life is superly average yet I can never think of anything to put on there. UNTIL like 2 days ago in my math class something so average and so random finally came to pass. (take note that my teacher is pretty chill and funny) well, while teaching a lesson and everyone was working on an example problem, my teacher is walking around the room making sure everyone knows how to do it. While doing so, he is lowly humming one of the songs on Harry Potter. No, it was not the theme song.. it was like the one they had in the first movie when something dramatic was happening.--- well! he gets to the front of the class and starts writing on the board and all of a sudden starts like opera singing the super high part of the song. I never think I've laughed so hard in my life! hahaha. how. hilarious. hahaha!
well, i think it's safe to say this is the longest post ive written.
p.s. im adding the song on a link. GO TO like 4 min and 25 sec and itll be the part my teach sung!:)
